Seacoast Pool and Spa
Our Pool Construction Process
Seacoast Pool & Spa follows a clear, 10-step pool construction process built around transparency and quality control. No mystery. No wondering where things stand. Just a straightforward path from your home as it is today to your home with a pool in it.

Why the Process Matters More Than You'd Think
Pool construction in New England isn’t simple. Frost lines run deep, soil conditions vary from one property to the next, and navigating permits across Maine and New Hampshire means knowing two sets of rules, not one.
A lot of contractors manage that complexity by spreading work across different crews. One group handles excavation, another handles plumbing, and someone else shows up for the liner. Nobody owns the full picture. Things fall through the gaps.
Our team does it differently. The same crew that starts your pool finishes it. If something unexpected comes up in the ground, it gets handled on the spot by people who know your project.
Our 10 Step Build Process
Onsite Meeting
Before anything gets scheduled, Noah walks your property in person. Your pool's dimensions, placement, and any site-specific considerations get locked in at this stage. Getting this right is what keeps everything downstream on track.
Excavation
The dig begins. Our team communicates what they find, because soil conditions in Southern Maine and New Hampshire vary more than most homeowners expect, and what's in the ground affects how the build proceeds.
Setting the Walls and Stairs
We use laser level technology to set the walls and stairs. Precision here matters more than at almost any other stage. If this step is off, everything that follows is off, too.
Pouring the Concrete
The concrete collar gets poured, and the pool bottom gets prepared. This is the foundational layer that holds everything in place through the freeze-thaw cycles New England winters deliver every year.
Plumbing
All filtration, circulation, and equipment systems go in at this stage. Our team handles this directly, meaning the people who set your walls are the same ones making sure your water system is set up right.
Backfill and Grade
The site gets backfilled and graded in preparation for the surrounding patio. If a concrete deck is part of your project, this is where that work starts taking shape, planned from day one, so everything comes together as one finished space.
The Vermiculite Bottom
A smooth layer of vermiculite gets applied across the pool floor. It's a cushioned base that protects the liner from below and gives it an even surface to sit against. Easy to skip. Expensive to regret.
Installing the Vinyl Liner
The liner goes in using a vacuum-assisted process, pulling it tight against every contour of the pool and eliminating wrinkles. A clean install here means better durability and a surface that's actually comfortable to swim in.
Filling with Water
Water is delivered by truck, and the pool starts filling. Faster and cleaner than running a hose for two days. Once it's in, you're close.
Final Walkthrough
Noah personally walks you through everything: how your filtration system works, what your chemical routine should look like, and how to reach us if something comes up. You leave this conversation knowing how to take care of your pool.
This systematic approach ensures consistent quality. It keeps you informed throughout your pool construction timeline. Most in-ground pool projects in New Hampshire get completed within our standard timeframe, weather permitting.

How Long Does a Pool Build Take?
Above-ground installations are typically done in a day or two.
In-ground builds are a longer process. The optimal window for construction in Southern New Hampshire and Southern Maine runs from late spring through early fall, when the ground is stable, and the weather cooperates.
Exact timelines vary by site, and Noah will give you a realistic picture during your on-site meeting, not a number that sounds good and falls apart later.

Questions About the Build Process
Do I need to be home for every phase of the construction?
Not for every step, but it helps to be available during the onsite meeting and the final walkthrough. For the phases in between, Noah keeps you updated so you’re never in the dark, even if you’re not on site.
What happens if unexpected soil conditions show up during excavation?
It comes up more than you’d think in New England. Our team communicates what was found and what it means for the build before making any decisions. You won’t get a surprise invoice. You’ll get a conversation.
How do I know what stage my project is at?
You can ask Noah. That’s the advantage of having one person leading the build from start to finish. There’s no chain of people to go through. Direct line, direct answer.
What does the final walkthrough actually cover?
Everything you need to run your pool confidently. How the filtration system works, how to test and balance your water chemistry, seasonal opening and closing basics, and what to do if something doesn’t look right. It’s a real conversation, not a five-minute formality.
