Why Choose Seacoast Pool and Spa for New Hampshire Pool Construction

Why Pool Equipment Installation and Replacement Matter in New Hampshire

Pool equipment does not last forever. Pumps, heaters, and filters wear out over time, and a failed unit in the middle of the season takes the whole pool offline. New England adds its own stress, since freeze conditions and a long off-season are hard on pumps, heaters, and plumbing.

A replacement is also a chance to do better than the failed unit. The right equipment, sized correctly for your pool and installed properly, runs more efficiently and lasts longer than a rushed like-for-like swap. Matching the equipment to the pool is where a professional installer earns its value, and it is the difference between equipment that quietly does its job and equipment that gives you trouble every summer.

Pool Equipment We Install and Replace

We install and replace the full range of pool equipment, from a single failed unit to a complete equipment set. These are the categories we cover.

Pool Pump Replacement

The pump is the core of the pool’s circulation. We replace pumps that run loudly, leak, lose flow, or switch on and off too frequently, and we size the new pump to match your pool.

We install variable speed pumps from Sta-Rite, Pentair, and Hayward. A variable-speed pump runs slower for longer rather than blasting at full power on a timer, so it draws less electricity and runs more quietly than a single-speed unit.

Pool Heater Installation and Replacement

A heater extends the swimming season well past the short New Hampshire summer. We install new heaters and replace failed or aging units, sizing the heater to the pool’s volume and the desired temperature.

You have three options. Propane, natural gas, or a heat pump. Most of our customers end up on a propane heater, either 250,000 or 400,000 BTU, which we recommend for a typical backyard pool in this climate. A heat pump costs less to run, but it pulls heat from the air, so it loses ground on the cool spring and fall days when you most want the pool warm.

Pool Filter Replacement

A filter that no longer clears the water shows it through cloudy water, constant cleaning, or pressure readings outside the normal range. We replace worn filters and match the new system to your pool and maintenance habits.

We install sand, DE, and cartridge filters. Cartridge is what most of our customers choose and what we recommend. There is no backwashing, so you are not dumping pool water every few weeks, and upkeep comes down to pulling the cartridge and rinsing it. Sand is the simplest to live with. DE filters the finest particles of the three, and the water shows it, but it demands more of you during maintenance.

Salt System Installation and Conversion

We install salt-chlorine systems, and you do not need to decide at the time of build. An existing chlorine pool can be converted later, so if you already have a pool and want to switch, that is a straightforward job.

A salt system generates its own chlorine from salt in the water, so you are not hauling and dosing chlorine every week. The water feels softer, and it is easier on eyes and swimsuits.

Pool Safety Covers

We install mesh safety covers, and every new pool build comes with one. A mesh cover is used to close the pool for the winter. It anchors to the deck, carries weight if someone walks on it, and lets snowmelt drain through rather than pooling on top.

We also install automatic covers. That is a different product with a different job: a powered cover you roll across the pool during the season for heat retention, debris control, and to keep the pool secure between swims. It does not replace the mesh cover for winter.

Signs Your Pool Equipment Needs Replacing

A few signs point to equipment near the end of its life. If one or more match your pool, it is worth an assessment.

  • A pump that runs loudly, leaks, or switches on and off too often
  • A heater that struggles to reach the desired temperature or stops heating
  • Cloudy water that does not clear, or a filter that needs constant cleaning
  • A filter pressure gauge reading outside its normal range
  • Rising energy bills from older, less efficient equipment
  • Repeated repairs that are adding up toward the cost of a replacement

If any of these sound familiar, a free assessment confirms whether a repair or a full replacement is the better call.

How We Install and Replace Pool Equipment

Every job starts with an on-site assessment of the pool and the equipment already in place. We size and match the new unit to the pool, remove the old equipment, install and connect the replacement, run startup and testing, and finish with a walkthrough on how to operate it.

The owner runs the work directly, so the person sizing your equipment is the person installing it. Correct sizing is the focus at every step, since a unit that is too small or too large for the pool costs more to run and wears out sooner.

Electrical and gas work sits outside what we do. You hire those contractors directly, which means you control that cost and that relationship. We tell you exactly what the job needs and when it needs to happen, and we can point you to local electricians and gas fitters we have worked with and trust.

Pool Equipment Cost and Financing

The cost of an equipment job depends on the details. The main factors are the type of equipment, the size and model you select, the condition of the existing connections, and whether you are replacing a single unit or a full set. A straightforward swap costs less than a job that also needs work on the connections or plumbing.

We provide free, no-obligation quotes that itemize the work, with any related repairs identified up front rather than added later.

For larger equipment projects, financing is available through Lyon Financial. If you are replacing several units at once, or pairing an equipment upgrade with other work on the pool, we can walk you through the options.
